The Anses (Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire alimentation, environment, labour) launches Saturday, June 20, a campaign against the tiger mosquito. Small in size, black and white, this invasive insect is present in sixty French overseas departments and transmits diseases such as dengue fever, and Zika. Native to the tropical forests of South-East Asia, the tiger mosquito is established in France since 2004, brought by the human activities, in particular the international trade of tires.
It can transmit to humans diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and Zika. The Anses is launching a campaign to identify him and report his presence on the site signalement-moustique.anses.fr.
