Ikea reacts quickly
The beech wood collected would then be used by the Swedish firm for the manufacture of chairs, including the famous model "Terje" and chairs for dining rooms. "Each year, tens of thousands of chairs in illegal timber are sold in the Ikea stores around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany," denounces the NGO, cited by the chain of continuous information.

"We recognize that illegal logging remains a global problem to be widespread and are working proactively to implement measures to verify that our suppliers respect the rule of law".
