Latin America and the Caribbean continue to suffer full brunt of the pandemic of novel coronavirus. This part of the globe, became Monday, July 13, the second-most affected region in the world in number of deaths, behind Europe, with more than 144 000 deaths officially recorded, according to a count by Agence France-Presse.

More than 3 370 000 cases have been registered in Latin America, which makes it the second-most affected region in the world Monday, in many cases, just behind the United States and Canada (more than 3 400 000). According to some experts, the official number of total deaths due to the Covid-19 in Latin America is under-estimated.
