This Thursday, the family of the young man's death in 2016 in Beaumont-sur-Oise announced that it had filed a complaint for "false witness" against a key witness of the investigation. But it is really all of the investigation that could be revived, according to Le Parisien, who announced that the co-investigating judges have conducted further investigations on several items in the folder.
The trio of the magistrate in charge of the dossier decided to search for new witnesses. But they also want to identify the person who has helped Adama Traoré to flee from the gendarmes. On July 19, 2016, while he was being handcuffed, an acquaintance came to his rescue. But, this person has never been identified. The judges require, therefore, to the general Inspectorate of the national gendarmerie (IGGN) to revive the research. To do this, they may, in particular, rely on the testimony of several persons present, but also traces of blood found on the polo of a constable. The judges wish they are again compared to available databases.

The IGGN must also focus on the history between Adama Traoré and the three gendarmes who had participated in his arrest. The judges want to know, when at least one of the gendarmes was left with the young man, especially in matters of contempt and rebellion. Records of constables will also be the object of very special attention, including any disciplinary procedures.

On the other hand, the co-investigating judges do not wish to carry out a reconstruction at the present time. The result of the medical expertise which has been applied a few days ago could change this setting, says The Parisian. Me Yassine Bouzrou, family lawyer Traoré was surprised in a press release on the progress of the folder "after four years of inertia". It points to a link with the recent protests that took place in Paris and elsewhere.
