North Rhine-Westphalia is making slow progress in expanding its wind power. In the third quarter, 20 new wind turbines went into operation, the regional association for renewable energies announced on Friday in Düsseldorf. That's not enough "back and forth" to achieve the goals of the black-green state government.
The CDU and the Greens want at least 1000 additional wind turbines to be built in NRW within five years. From the point of view of the Renewable Energy Association, however, there are still too many stumbling blocks. So far lengthy approval procedures should be accelerated.
