The Alicante Tourist Board has put out to tender the services for the "Doggy Beach" at Agua Amarga Beach, which will consist of the installation of a food truck with a terrace and an area for renting umbrellas and sun loungers.

The deputy mayor, Mari Carmen Sánchez, has pointed out that this initiative "complements the offer of this pioneer dog beach that is so well received in the city and where people with their pets come all year round."

The "Doggy beach" already has a lifeguard and rescue service from June to September and also has a pipican, so this specification for the food truck and the umbrella area "will be a complementary service that will improve the dog beach", Sánchez explained in a statement from the consistory.

The contract will have a duration of three years and the exploitation period runs from May 1 to October 15, except for this season in which it would start from the day after the signing of the contract. According to the tender specifications, it will be able to occupy 20 square meters with another 50 meters for the terrace, while the rental area for umbrellas and hammocks will occupy 120 square meters. The hours of attention to the public for these services are established from 9 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Both services make up a single lot whose annual fee amounts to 7,992 euros, which represents a minimum of 23,976 euros for the three seasons. As it is a public concession, the Alicante City Tourist Board
