Maximum values ​​of up to two degrees are only possible in the west and on the coasts. For the coming nights, some severe frost of minus ten degrees is to be expected.

Already on Saturday evening there were a few accidents caused by ice in the south and east. In the Vogtland district of Saxony, a 19-year-old skidded her car and crashed into a tree. She suffered minor injuries, police said. Property damage was caused in several accidents in Upper Bavaria. For example, at an intersection in Oberpframmern (Ebersberg district), a 53-year-old driver slipped on summer tires and crashed his car into the car of a 39-year-old.

For Sunday, the weather service continues to warn of ice due to freezing wet. There may be new snow showers in the east and southeast. In the night to Monday the snowfall will continue in the eastern half, otherwise it will mostly stay dry.

The snowfall in the east is also expected to continue on Monday, before moving towards Poland over the course of the day. In the rest of the country it will be mostly friendly, in the west and southwest there are also longer sunny periods. The maximum values ​​during the day are between minus four and zero degrees, on the Lower Rhine and along the coasts the values ​​can rise to two degrees.
