People in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein can expect a foggy, cloudy and heavily overcast wintry Friday. At the start of the third weekend in Advent, rain or sleet and isolated thunderstorms are expected, especially in North Friesland, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD). The temperatures are in the frosty zero degrees. In the morning and in the night of Saturday it can be slippery in places and foggy in the south-eastern parts of the country, sometimes with low visibility. There may be some fresh snow in the north.
Saturday night will be cloudy, with loosening up and rain in the north, sometimes accompanied by snow and brief thunderstorms. The temperatures drop to zero to minus four degrees and it gets chilly - a good reason to warm up with a hot drink at the Christmas market.
