A 26-year-old went off the road on federal highway 169 in the direction of Bergen (Vogtlandkreis) and crashed his car into several trees. The man was seriously injured, the police said on Wednesday. Accordingly, the 26-year-old came off the road early Tuesday evening with the car in a left turn. The car then overturned several times and hit several trees. The car stayed on its roof.

Alerted rescue workers freed the seriously injured driver from the car and took him to a hospital for further treatment. A breath alcohol test on the man showed almost one per thousand. The resulting property damage amounts to around 20,000 euros. The road was closed for about two hours after the accident.
