Viva la vulva!: “Shameless clit-bait” – Internet is amused by “suggestive” recipe post from Nigel Slater

With comedienne Lisa Frischemeier it's like this: everywhere she looks, she sees "female shame". In the folds of a jacket, a staircase, a shell. She made an illustrated book from her finds. The British celebrity chef Nigel Slater, on the other hand, seems to be blind to female sexual characteristics. Or at least blind enough to miss how ambiguous the recipe post he posted on Instagram was. Because, to put it with a wink in the words of one follower, it was nothing other than “shameless clit-bait”.

One would like to assume that Slater has a certain innocence. If you take it seriously, he only advertised quince tarts on his social media account. Soft. Sweet. Juicy. But the image that accompanies the post, a frontal close-up, is clearly ambiguous, at least at first glance. You can definitely see a pastry in it. However, the similarity to a vulva, or more precisely a clitoris, cannot be denied. Slater's fans reacted accordingly euphorically, they didn't let up and unleashed a firework of humorous comments and ambiguous puns.

“Merry Clitmas, for everyone,” reads the comments section. So what is desired is not a merry Christmas, but a merry clitoris. A follower wrote that she wished her [vulva] looked like this. Another describes what he sees as “perfect finger food.” One commenter is even more clear, writes of "culinarylingus" in reference to cunnilingus, i.e. the stimulation of the vulva with the tongue. As one follower sums it up, the image is the “definition of food porn.”

The fact that Slater writes in the post that it's "not something to rush into, but a fun way to spend a quiet afternoon in the kitchen and worth every minute of your time" doesn't make it any better. And the fact that Slater has no idea what he actually posted is probably because, one reader estimates, Slater is "a sweet gay man." Even fellow chef Jamie Oliver is amused and reacts with a “Hahaha”.

Whether by accident or by design, the chef managed to put a smile on the faces of his followers with his tarts. And otherwise prefers to remain silent about the “incident”.
