The ordinary General Council of the Union of the Leonese People (UPL) has decided this Monday to break the pact that the formation maintained with the PSOE in the Diputación de León and that gave the presidency of the same to the socialists. A decision adopted unanimously within the party.

After almost two hours of a "detailed debate" on the pact with the PSOE in the Provincial Council "with numerous interventions" by the members of the general council of the party, who were the ones who at the time endorsed the signing of the agreement, the moment of the vote, in which the break was decided followed by applause from the attendees.

The outcome comes after several leaders from the Leon formation drew attention to "a series of breaches", especially in terms of infrastructure, which they warned would be decisive when maintaining the alliance or not.
