United States: Biden visits Uvalde to alleviate the suffering of a traumatized city.

"You can't make dramas unlawful, I know that. We can make America safer," United States President Joe Biden said on Saturday. He lamented that "in so many locations, so many innocent persons have died."

Two teachers and nineteen children were killed in Tuesday's shooting at the Robb school, Uvalde, by Salvador Ramos. This was one of the most horrific shootings in recent times in the country.

The 79 year-old Democrat spoke out about his own pain shortly after the deaths. He had lost his infant daughter in a car crash and his adult son to cancer. On Tuesday, he stated that losing a child was like having a piece of your soul taken out. "Nothing will ever be the same again."

Joe Biden will meet in Uvalde with victims' families, religious leaders, and local leaders. He is known for his compassion and will be able find the words to comfort those in pain. However, the head of state cannot promise any action to those who demand stricter firearms control.

He cannot pass any significant legislation on this subject because of the too small Democratic parliamentary majority. To get the qualified majority, his elected representatives must convince some Republicans.

Vice President Kamala Harris echoed this sentiment Saturday, stating that elected officials must have the courage to "oppose, once for all, gun lobby" and pass reasonable security laws regarding "fire arms".

America was plunged back into the horror of school shootings by the Uvalde murder and the innocent faces of its young victims. Residents of this small community, where a memorial to the victims is located in the middle of town, are now grieving for the survivors.

First testimonies from Robb School students gave glimpses into the horror they experienced. Samuel Salinas, 10, said that the shooter entered the room and told the children, “You're all going be dying.” Before opening fire. The young boy testified that he seemed to be aiming at him, but a chair was placed between him and the shooter.

Miah Cerrillo (11 years old) tried to escape Salvador Ramos's attention in the same manner. The blood of her comrade was near her, so she covered herself with it. After saying "goodnight" to her, she had just witnessed the teenager shoot his teacher.

Daniel, another student, said to The Washington Post that the victims waited for police to arrive and rescue them. However, no one shouted.

The police took around an hour to end the massacre on Tuesday. The attack of a specialized unit was awaited by the 19 agents present at the scene. The delay in intervening caused controversy and was rescinded by the Texas authorities.
