His French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian assured Kyiv of the support of the members of the G7 “in the long term”.

"We will continue to support Ukraine's fight for its sovereignty over time until Ukraine wins," he said.

The foreign ministers of the G7 (Germany, France, Italy, Canada, United States, Japan and United Kingdom), joined by their Ukrainian counterparts Dmytro Kuleba and Moldovan Nicu Popescu, are meeting until Saturday in Germany to find out how further support Kyiv in its resistance to the Russian invasion.

They will discuss in particular the repercussions of the war on the most disadvantaged countries, particularly in Africa, and the risks of a world food crisis, the head of German diplomacy Annalena Baerbock, whose country holds the presidency of the G7, had indicated the day before.

"There are initiatives that will be taken which will be, I think, initiatives of coherence and cohesion between the different actors to avoid the consequences on the food supply of the Ukrainian crisis", indicated Mr. Le Drian.
