Tropical Storm Kay Brings Relief to California Fire Fight

"Fire activity was greatly reduced by the humidity from Tropical Storm Kay," the California Forestry and Fire Protection Agency said. However, authorities warned of the risk of flash floods and mudslides in areas where the ground cannot absorb the sudden rains.

The flames broke out Monday near the town of Hemet, southeast of Los Angeles. The fire killed two people and thousands had to leave their homes.
