A 19-year-old driver had an accident on federal highway 51 in the Trier-Saarburg district and was seriously injured. The man lost control of his car during an unsuccessful overtaking maneuver near the town of Tawern on Monday evening, the police said. The car left the road to the right, overturned and ended up on its roof. The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The federal highway was completely closed for around an hour because the car had to be rescued with a crane.
