Trials: Children pushed from balcony: Case in court on January 11th

On January 11, the Saarbrücken district court heard the case of a woman who is said to have thrown her two children off a balcony in Saarbrücken. The three-year-old daughter died in a fall from around five meters at the end of July 2022. Her one-year-old sister and the woman, who then jumped herself, survived. The public prosecutor assumes that the woman was not guilty at the time of the crime due to a mental illness, as the Saarbrücken district court announced on Friday. The so-called security procedure is about their permanent accommodation in a special psychiatric facility.

The family lived in the Main-Taunus district in Hesse and was visiting the grandparents in Saarland. The girl's partner and father and other relatives were in the apartment during the crime and were then looked after by emergency chaplains.
