Travis Scott: The New York police are looking for the rapper

The New York City police are looking for US rapper Travis Scott (31). He is said to have hit the sound engineer at a New York nightclub. According to a police statement obtained by NBC News, officers from the New York City Police Department "arrived at Club Nebula around 3:25 a.m. on March 1, after an audio engineer said he was "into a verbal dispute with the rapper involved".

The statement went on to say that the rapper allowed the argument to "escalate into a physical altercation" before allegedly "slapping the victim on the left side of his face with a closed fist."

Travis was also charged with damaging a speaker and video screen worth $12,000 before fleeing the scene, police said. She now hopes to speak to Travis Scott.

But now there are doubts. In a statement to E! News, Scott's attorney, Mitchell Schuster, said he was confident his client would be cleared of any wrongdoing. "While this is clearly a misunderstanding fueled by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to clarify and set the matter straight," Mitchell said.

Ritchie Romero, Managing Partner of Club Nebula, added: "It's totally out of proportion. It was a great night."

Just hours before his nightclub visit, Scott was a special guest at a Don Toliver concert at Irving Plaza on February 28th. His next scheduled appearance is a headlining gig at the Rolling Loud Festival in Inglewood, California on March 4th.
