The race was marked with the breakaway of Ben Healy, a young Irishman (21), who led for nearly 50 kilometers despite strong headwind. After a thrilling stage that kept the stage alive, the rider from EF Education-EasyPost was finally caught just a few meters before it ended.
Evenepoel is already a winner of the first and second stages. He leads the general classification Jay Vine by 56 seconds and Lucas Plapp 1 min 30 sec.
Sunday's 6th and Final Stage will be a 145km loop around Stavanger, with two challenges: Undheim climb and "Grisebakken".
