Togo officially opens land borders after two years closed due to the pandemic

MADRID, 18 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Togolese authorities officially opened the country's land borders with its neighboring countries -- Benin, Ghana and Burkina Faso -- on Tuesday night, due to the lower incidence of coronavirus cases and after being closed for two years.

The closure of the borders has seriously affected border communities, which have had to paralyze their businesses for the last two years, as reported by the Ghanaian news channel Citi Newsroom.

For his part, the president of Ghana, Nana Addo, announced the opening of its land borders last March.
