A 32-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested by Civil Guard agents as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health for the cultivation or manufacture of narcotic substances and a crime of electrical fraud for illegal hookup. In addition, 900 marijuana plants have been seized inside a hidden basement in a house in the town of Santa Olalla.

This operation began at the beginning of February thanks to a meticulous investigation by the agents of the Civil Guard of the Santa Olalla Post when verifying the increase in electricity costs and the strong characteristic smell of marijuana outside the home.

After giving a timely account to the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 2 of Torrijos, the entry and search warrant was obtained, the agents observing that there was a hidden basement in the garage of the house, difficult to access, in which there was a plantation. indoor with 900 marijuana plants, in addition to all the necessary material for its cultivation.

The operational work of this action has been very complex due to the great surveillance measures that the residents of the house had.

They had 24-hour recording cameras, motion detectors on the street and a person watching from the inside, who stayed for many hours at his post, and hardly went out on the street.

In addition to the marijuana plantation, a Buggy vehicle stolen in the town of Montearagón in 2020 and a greyhound dog that was reported in Olías del Rey last January were recovered.

The action of the Seprona team of the Civil Guard of Talavera de la Reina was also necessary, since at the time of entry into the home, the residents had nine dogs, two horses, seven hens, fourteen roosters and six chickens, and most of the animals lacked a chip, vaccines or the necessary hygienic-sanitary conditions, filing reports for each infraction detected.

The arrested man, a 32-year-old Spaniard, has numerous records, and with his arrest, proceedings are extended to clarify the crimes of robbery with force that occurred in Olías del Rey and Montearagón, where the greyhound and the buggy, respectively, recovered in the inside the home.

Her partner, a 25-year-old Spanish woman with no criminal record, has also been detained, although she has been released immediately, pending being summoned by the judge when necessary.

These people have seized 900 marijuana plants, thirteen 600-watt lamps, fourteen fans, eight air conditioners and all the tools for cultivation. Likewise, both the dog and the vehicle have been returned to their rightful owners.
