Agents of the Civil Guard have saved the life of a driver of a vehicle with French registration who suffered a heart attack when he was driving along kilometer 99 of the A-62, at the height of the Palencia town of Dueñas, according to sources from the armed institute.
During the provision of a road safety surveillance service, the agents have received notice from the Operational Center indicating the presence of a man who, apparently, was suffering from a heart attack. Upon arriving at the scene, they observed a vehicle stopped on the shoulder with two occupants inside.
For this reason, the official removed the man from the vehicle and placed him in a safety position and, given the evident lack of oxygen that he presented, proceeded to carry out the appropriate maneuvers to unblock the respiratory tract by opening his jaw and inserting his hand inside the his mouth to stick out his tongue, since it had receded and rested on the back of the pharynx, thus opening the airway.
At that moment and as a result of the maneuvers carried out, the subject opened his eyes and began to breathe. After the arrival of the emergency services, the Civil Guard agents regulated traffic and protected the area so that the toilets could work safely.
