A popular court judges from this Monday in the Valencia Court a man accused of killing his roommate in the health center in which both were admitted in the town of Barx.

The accusation claims a total of 17 years in prison for the defendant for treacherously murdering his roommate, whom he attacked by surprise, according to the prosecutor's account.

According to the information provided by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV), the jury must decide if on November 9, 2019 the defendant, 21 years old at the time of the events, stood on top of the victim , aged 58, when she was lying in bed, and he squeezed her neck with his hands until she strangled to death.

The Prosecutor's Office considers that the facts constitute a crime of murder. In addition, he understands that the company that manages the residence did not adopt the appropriate surveillance measures or special control over the accused, who had already been involved in incidents before. For this reason, the prosecutor demands that the center compensate the victim's mother and siblings with 150,000 euros.
