These are the cheapest hours of electricity for this Saturday, May 28

The price of electricity in the wholesale market will drop 3.73% this Saturday compared to this Friday, which is why it decreases for the third day in a row and remains below the level of 200 euros megawatt hour (MWh) per eighth consecutive day, according to data published by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE) and collected by EP.

Thus, the 'pool' will mark this Saturday its second lowest record so far in May (only above the 127.23 euros/MWh of last May 15), although it must be taken into account that on weekends the price of electricity usually falls due to lower demand.

The maximum electricity price for this Saturday will be registered between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., with 227.98 euros/MWh, while the minimum for the day, of 126.04 euros/MWh, will take place between 4:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m.

Compared to a year ago, the average price of electricity for this Saturday will be 82.41% more expensive than the 88.95 euros/MWh of May 28, 2021.

The prices of the 'pool' have a direct impact on the regulated rate --the so-called PVPC--, to which almost 11 million households in the country are covered, and serve as a reference for the other 17 million who have contracted their supply in the free market.
