The Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo sent an email to its members on Wednesday so that whoever wanted to join this Friday in welcoming Juan Carlos I, who after 21 months in Abu Dhabi returned to Spain yesterday, specifically to this town in Pontevedra, to participate in a sailing regatta and spend a few days with family and friends.

“We hereby want to inform you that S.M. King Don Juan Carlos I will visit our Club again next Friday the 20th in the morning. Given the time that has elapsed since his last visit, and in response to what was requested by the members, we send this communication so that those who want to can join in the welcome that the Board of Directors will give them at the entrance of the Club.

The expectation was maximum at the gates of the institution. The King's father has been received with applause and cheers by more than 300 people who have come to the port. And there, at the gates, the board of directors was waiting for him, accompanied by the partners.

Juan Carlos I assured in 2017 in the same waters that will see him navigate these days that "the sea means freedom". The King's father will embark on the Bribón 500, the sailboat with which he was proclaimed world champion on two occasions; 2017 and 2019. This weekend, the Bribón 500 will participate in the InterRías Trophy regatta of the 2022 Spain Cup Circuit. The Bribón 500 is moored in Sanxenxo.
