The president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has estimated the reduction in the waiting list to be operated on in the Community by 6 percent since the start-up of the shock plan last March to what has added the effect of the latest initiatives to expand the activity of operating theaters in the afternoons.

Fernández Mañueco, who has participated this Monday in the capital of Burgos in the events of the tenth anniversary of the Burgos Hospital, has clarified that "beyond the days" the objective of the Board is to reduce the waiting lists and recover a situation "better even” than the one before the pandemic.

To do this, he explained by way of example, the Ministry of Health has opted to expand the activity of the operating rooms in the afternoon

In statements collected by Ep, the Chairman of the Board has called for overcoming the daily challenges of public health, among which he has placed the reduction of waiting lists and the attraction of more professionals in both the medical and nursing areas for what that he has promised to do "everything" in his power, in collaboration with the Government of Spain.

Advancing in telemedicine and improving network operation are other future challenges that the president of the Junta de Castilla y León has taken on, who has been proud that Burgos has "the best healthcare" through an infrastructure "modern and functional" as is the HUBU.
