The University of Alicante and Hidraqua intensify their collaboration with the signing of a specific agreement on Social Responsibility that includes actions to improve accessibility, cultural and academic in the Museum of the University of Alicante (MUA) and in the University Venues. This was ratified this morning by the rector of the UA, Amparo Navarro, and Jordi Azorín Poveda, CEO of Hidraqua. They were accompanied at the signing ceremony in the rectory office by the director of Communication and Institutional Relations of Hidraqua, Martín Sanz, the vice-rector for Culture, Sports and University Extension, Catalina Iliescu, the general director of Aguas de Alicante, Javier Díez, and the Deputy Secretary General of the AU, Josep Ochoa.

The agreement includes the organization of five round tables at the University Venues of Alicante, Torrevieja, Elda, Petrer and Orihuela, on climate change, water, pollution and Sustainable Development Goals, among others. This cycle is part of the 'CLIMAS for CHANGE' initiative, an action that aims to address how the most representative social and productive sectors of the Valencian Community work in the fight against the climate crisis and the roadmap to follow to mitigate its effects in this region. To this end, an intense calendar of actions has been organized, including interviews, talks, round tables and other initiatives that will be carried out by experts from north to south of the Community during 2022, including find Enrique Moltó, Josep Ivars, Esther Sánchez and Jorge Olcina, as speakers of the Sedes cycle.

The agreement also includes the actions to improve accessibility of the MUA, whose first actions have already been launched, and which will increase in the coming months.

The rector Amparo Navarro has underlined in her speech the importance of the collaboration that Hidraqua has maintained with the UA for years and that is now intensifying in strategic areas of Social Responsibility for the University, such as inclusion and accessibility, and the reinforcement of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically with this cycle dedicated to the environment.

For his part, the CEO of Hidraqua, Jordi Azorín, stated that “the renewal of this agreement shows for yet another year our company's commitment to the university, education, training and talent. Being able to create alliances with institutions such as the UA is one of our main objectives, and even more so if it is to go hand in hand with awareness initiatives such as CLIMAS for CHANGE».
