The Spanish Daniel del Valle Blanco has become the youngest diplomat in the world. He is a law student from Madrid who, at only 20 years old, has been confirmed as part of the Diplomatic Service of the Sovereign Order of Malta.

He was appointed on April 11 in New York and in his first public post of a diplomatic nature, he will be Attaché for Political and Youth Affairs at the Permanent Observer Mission of the Order of Malta to the United Nations in the Big Apple.

“I feel very grateful and happy. It is an honor to faithfully serve the Order, under the motto 'Tuitio Fidel et Obsequium Pauperum'”, the young man said on Instagram.

Del Valle also serves as High Representative for Youth of the International Human Rights Foundation (IHRF), and prior to his appointment to the Mission of the Order of Malta (with which he began working as advisor to the ambassador in October of last year ), was a Youth Advisor at the Mission of the Slovak Republic to the UN (since 2020).

As explained in a press release, "in this capacity, he focused his functions mainly on youth policies, Latin America and Africa, and worked to support the implementation of the UN Youth 2030 Strategy and the work of the Office of the Secretary's Envoy General of the United Nations for Youth. He has met with leaders of more than 80 countries, including presidents and prime ministers, in order to obtain the necessary support for the full participation of youth in political-diplomatic decision-making tables ».

Taking part in the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations, participating as a speaker at the Doha Forum and being a speaker at the Ibero-American Congress of Diplomacy and International Relations of the Ibero-American Center for International Studies (CIBEI), are just some of the achievements that Daniel del Valle Blanco accumulates on his shoulders at his young age.
