The Provincial Council asks the mayor of Elche to resolve the expropriation of the land of the Congress Center

The deputy for Architecture, José Ramón González de Zárate, has reiterated that the Alicante Provincial Council will not be able to put out to tender the preliminary project for the future Elche Congress Center if the City Council does not previously dispose of the land "since this would break the law" , for which he has once again urged the Elche town hall to "resolve the expropriation of the plot as soon as possible and we can move forward so that this great project soon becomes a reality.

The Provincial Council asks the mayor of Elche to resolve the expropriation of the land of the Congress Center

The deputy for Architecture, José Ramón González de Zárate, has reiterated that the Alicante Provincial Council will not be able to put out to tender the preliminary project for the future Elche Congress Center if the City Council does not previously dispose of the land "since this would break the law" , for which he has once again urged the Elche town hall to "resolve the expropriation of the plot as soon as possible and we can move forward so that this great project soon becomes a reality."

The provincial official has assured that "it has been the technicians of the Diputación de Alicante who have warned of the impossibility of tendering the preliminary project without the land having been previously expropriated, as established by the regulations, as the municipal technicians of Alicante also know Elche».

"We fear that the mayor of Elche is either unaware of the law, something that is very serious, or is using this matter to confuse the people of Elche and cover up the City Council's inactivity and lack of management," criticized the deputy.

In this sense, it has revealed that one of the plots where the construction of the congress building is planned is being used by its owners as a warehouse "and the City Council has not even contacted the property for its acquisition."

González de Zarate stated that the Elche Congress Center is "a priority issue for the Provincial Council, whose government team is promoting investments and strategic projects in this city for its future and development."

In this sense, the deputy for Architecture has demanded Carlos González "institutional collaboration and loyalty" to start up this infrastructure and has regretted that the mayor is using this issue to politically attack the president of the Provincial Council, Carlos Mazón.
