The PP formalizes in the Supreme its resignation to appeal the sentence for the works of the headquarters

The Supreme Court already has the resignation of the PP to appeal the sentence that condemned the formation as subsidiary civil liability for paying with black money the reform of the headquarters of Genoa 13. "Following express instructions of my principal" - indicates the letter to which he has had access to ABC- «I have come to withdraw the appeal filed on behalf of the Popular Party».

In that appeal, the PP requested the acquittal of the former treasurer of the formation, Luis Bárcenas, understanding that the crime of tax fraud that was imposed on him was already prescribed when he was charged in the National Court. If the ex-treasurer was exonerated, so was the formation, since without a crime there would be no consequent responsibility.

After the letter was publicly known yesterday, the Feijóo PP rectified and announced that it was going to withdraw the appeal that Casado presented.

This was announced by Esteban González Pons after the party's Executive Committee on Monday. "We didn't know him. And by not knowing it, we do not share it », he expressed.

His words came after the brief that the popular had presented was made public, when the rest of the lawyers in the case were notified. The appeal was announced before the Supreme Court two days before the PP congress, when the deadline to appeal expired and was finally formalized on April 19, but sources from the current party leadership assure this newspaper that they were unaware of the legal strategy that it contained.

Now it's official. The Popular Party withdraws the appeal it presented and therefore accepts the sentence imposed by the National High Court for paying for the works of the party headquarters with money from box B.
