The Popular Municipal Group has denounced this Friday the poor state of the sidewalks in the neighborhood of Santa María de Benquerencia, especially deteriorated in the vicinity of the University Hospital and has called on the municipal government to act to guarantee the safety of pedestrians .

In a new chapter of "The route of abandonment", the spokesman for the Popular Municipal Group, Juan José Alcalde, has highlighted the damage to the sidewalks and the pits in this area, through which numerous neighbors who come to the hospital. The deterioration causes some sections to be impassable and can be dangerous for pedestrians. In addition, the Mayor has shown his concern about the accessibility problems that this entails for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.

In this sense, the spokesman has indicated that the people of Toledo do not deserve that the city is in this state of abandonment. Meanwhile, «the PSOE boasts of having saved 7 million euros in 2021, because it has not been able to manage the budget, public services are deficient and the maintenance of public areas leaves much to be desired, as the image of the sidewalks shows in Santa Maria de Benquerencia.

In the same way, the Mayor explained that Toledo is the third city with the highest taxes and deserves better management by the socialist government led by Milagros Tolón. “We do not deserve a government team with this apathy, we need a change in the city of Toledo. The Government of the PSOE does not look after the people of Toledo, it does not look after the real problems. We need an effective government team capable of managing, involved by the city and the people of Toledo », he said.
