The plenary session of the Diputación de Alicante has approved a motion presented by the groups of the government team - Partido Popular and Ciudadanos - to demand that the Government of Spain update the prices of Imserso, as demanded by the tourism sector of the province. The text has had the support of the Socialist Group and the abstention of Compromís.

The Cs spokesman and deputy for Infrastructure, Javier Gutiérrez, has defended, on behalf of the government team, that "as the Hospitality and Tourism Business Association of the Valencian Community (Hosbec) highlights, the current price established at 22 euros per person and day with full board makes the continuity of many companies and the coverage of adequate services for tourists unfeasible.

In this sense, he has also warned that "extending prices would be the ruin of a fundamental sector in Alicante, which has more than 20% of the national Imserso offer and only asks that prices be updated." Gutiérrez has called for "commitment, institutional responsibility and sensitivity to make businesses competitive and viable and guarantee thousands of jobs."
