The mayor of Brull (Barcelona) and president of the La Plana Intermunicipal and Voluntary Association, Ferran Teixidó i Turner, has died this Sunday in an accident with his tractor related to two bales of straw, the agency has reported. As confirmed by the Mossos d'Esquadra, the mayor would have had the two bales of straw fall on him while he was working on a farm. When the emergency services have appeared at the scene, they have been unable to do anything to save his life.

The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has lamented his death and has transferred his condolences to his family, friends "and to all the people" in a tweet collected by Europa Press, and so has the president of the Parlament, Laura Borràs.

The Vice President of the Government, Jordi Puigneró; the Minister for the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà, and the Minister for Equality and Feminism, Tània Verge, among others, have also reminded her on their respective Twitter accounts.
