A large majority of Quebecers are undeterred by soaring gas prices and plan to return to car travel and summer activities, according to a recent survey released Thursday.

The survey carried out by Ipsos on behalf of Toyota Canada reveals that 94% of respondents want to return to the activities from which they were weaned during the COVID-9 pandemic.

Some 75% of Quebecers plan to travel outside their city this summer, while nearly two out of five Quebecers will visit the rest of Canada and 19% will be able to venture outside the country.

The rise in fuel prices does not seem to deter some Quebecers, 44% of whom do not plan to cancel their road trip plans, while one in five Quebecers is looking to save on gas or ensure proper maintenance. his vehicle.

For Quebecers who intend to travel by car this summer, the main motivation remains the opportunity to reconnect with the wider social circle, family or friends (55%), while 29% of respondents want to take advantage of the nature.
