"The Lion's Den": 17-year-old inventor inspires investors

The twelfth season of the VOX show "Die Höhle der Löwen" (also on RTL) starts with a special feature: the lions Ralf Dümmel (55) and Georg Kofler (65) have become a pack. The two investors have not only teamed up professionally, for the first episode of the new season they sit together on a sofa and act as a team. The lions are particularly impressed by Aaron, who at the age of 17 can already look back on a large number of exciting inventions - unfortunately not all pitches go so well.

The "Lords of the Rings" start things off: Lukas Schmitz (29), Steffen Kirilmaz (28) and Bernhard Wernberger (56) present their "Pagopace", a ring with which you can pay anywhere in the world, similar to an EC -Map. This payment method even works under a glove. "I'll also give half a million for that," says Carsten Maschmeyer (63), enthusiastic about the new product. Dagmar Wöhrl (68) and Judith Williams (50) don't want to miss out on this investment either. But in the end, Maschmeyer came out on top and invested 200,000 euros for 15 percent of the company shares plus five percent for successful milestones.

Kathrin Alfen (38) and her husband Felix Strohmaier (40) have set themselves the task of freeing fruit and vegetables from pesticides. For this, the couple invented "Lemonist", a natural preparation that you put in a bowl of water with fruit and vegetables and let it soak for ten minutes. The food is then rinsed off with clear water and significantly fewer pollutants should remain. "Lemonist" may not be able to convince the lionesses, but the sales heart of the Dümmel-Kofler team is beating. At 50,000 euros for a 25 percent stake, there are sparks between the "Lemonist" inventors and the lions.

Amjad Abu Hamid (33) from Münster does not have as much success as "Lemonist". The comedian not only has a few jokes with him, but also falafel balls made according to his mother's recipe. The batter for the chickpea balls is frozen. So the balls only have to be roasted, fried or put in the oven. Unfortunately, none of the lions dare to buy frozen products, as this is a very tough market. So Amjad can't take a deal home with him.

The same goes for Steffanie Rainer. The 30-year-old has declared war on plastic bottles and wants to set up a plastic-free refill station for soap and shampoo in retail with "Without Me". This exemplary project is well received by the lions, but Steffanie's idea is difficult to implement. "Similar problem as with the e-cars at the beginning, too few charging stations," says Georg Kofler, summarizing the situation. But even without a deal, Steffanie wants to continue to work for a better environment.

"I'm speechless, mega flashed by you," says Judith Williams about the young inventor Aaron Holzhäuer. The 17-year-old inventor wants to launch his "BeeSafe", a bike bag that can be locked and equipped with a power bank, for example to charge the bike's lights. There are offers from the lions - Nils Glagau (46) and Dagmar Wörl want to give Aaron the desired 145,000 euros for 25.1 percent shares.

Carsten Maschmeyer has teamed up with Georg Kofler and Ralf Dümmel to offer 145,000 euros for 30 percent. Aaron can't refuse that and is happy about three lions.
