The Institut Valencià d'Art Modern (IVAM) organizes a summer school around the world of videogames and digital images during the month of July. Based on the research of the artists participating in the Art and Context Program, the museum proposes two activities that will transform the space into a laboratory of narrations, games and sound experimentation for children and adolescents.

'Planeta Random: Laboratory of played fictions' is the first workshop that will be held from July 4 to 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Through games and digital images, boys and girls from nine to twelve years old will reflect on the possibilities that fiction and fantasy offer when it comes to generating thought and imagining other possible worlds.

For a week they will design and build the environment of a video game, a community and their own characters, the Generalitat has indicated in a statement.

'Planeta Noise: Laboratory of Sound Fictions' is the second activity planned from July 11 to 15 for adolescents from thirteen to sixteen years old. In this workshop they will use sound as a tool to understand the environment, they will generate and invent animal and machine sounds and build new sound landscapes.

The IVAM summer school workshops are free and are taught by Elena Sanmartín Hernández, with the mediation support of Alejandro Ocaña and the collaborations of Patricia Ferragud in sound production and Pablo Oria in digital creation.

The IVAM summer school has the participation of minors from the Residential Foster Care and Juvenile Justice Service of the General Directorate for Children and Adolescents of the Generalitat Valenciana.
