After a month and a half of rise, the accumulated incidence among those over 60 years of age, the only one that is measured in the 'flu' phase of covid-19, has dropped ten cases this Tuesday to stand at 846.55 per every 100,000 inhabitants to 14 days. This breaks an upward trend that began on April 12 and that has led to this record doubling in a period that has coincided with festivities such as Easter and with the end of the mandatory use of the mask indoors. In addition, the improvement in the data may continue in the coming days, since the seven-day incidence is at 410 cases, below 50% of that of 14.

By province, Ceuta reaches the national maximum, with 2,016, and together with La Rioja, they are above the 1,500 cases that mark the high risk barrier. There are also over a thousand cases in Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia, Navarra and the Basque Country. On the opposite side, Andalusia, with 480, marks the minimum in the country.

Regarding the latest reports, there is also a drop in deaths. The Ministry of Health records 198 more deaths, which brings the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic, with a positive test, to 105,642.

The situation in hospitals is slightly worsening, especially on the ward, where 7,558 people are admitted for covid, compared to 7,200. Here, the occupancy rate has gone from 5.80 to 6.10. In the ICUs, 363 patients are hospitalized for coronavirus, three less than on Friday, but the percentage increases from 4.07 to 4.20.
