The Ministry of Territorial Policy, through the Valencia Metropolitan Transport Agency (ATMV), will offer a night bus service to Mislata (Valencia) from 15 June.
The Regional Minister for the sector, Rebeca Torró, explained that this service "complements the current offer, allowing citizens to enjoy public transport 24 hours a day, every day of the week."
Currently, the bus service operated only during the day from 5:20 a.m. to 10:50 p.m. By extending its hours all night, from 11:00 p.m. to 5:45 a.m. from Monday to Thursday, Sundays and holidays included, it will provide a continuous service all day, as reported by the regional administration in a statement.
In addition, on Friday, Saturday and holiday eve nights, the service will complement the nocturnal metro service so that users can have public transport throughout the day, with a bus service from 3:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Until now, the EMT provided a service with frequencies of one hour, on weekdays from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and on Fridays and the eve of holidays until 3:20 a.m. The proposed service, which will have frequencies of 45 minutes, will run through the main avenues of Valencia, Avenida del Cid and Gran Vía Ramón y Cajal, where in the Plaza de España you can connect with the metro.
With the SUMA card you can travel on Metrovalencia, EMT, Renfe Cercanías and MetroBus. This new integrated ticket also allows you to make a free transfer between different means of transport or between two different EMT or MetroBus lines.
In addition, on weekends, FGV offers the night service 'A la Luna de Metrovalencia', to which the new Line 10 has been incorporated so that trams will run on Fridays, Saturdays and on the eve of public holidays until around 2.30 am, according to routes, between Alicante station and the Ciutat Arts i Ciències-Justícia and Nazaret stops.
«With this initiative -Rebeca Torró underlined- there is a response to the loss of the night service that the EMT had been providing and that was going to be financed by the ATMV and is one more example of the Generalitat's commitment to sustainable mobility, which It is complemented by the launch of the new SUMA integrated titles”, he highlighted.
In this regard, the mayor of Mislata, Carlos Bielsa, thanked the Department for "its commitment to metropolitan mobility and support for the city of Mislata" and highlighted that this new service "will guarantee public transport 24 hours a day , seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays, a service that was not previously provided.
"It is an important day for the city of Mislata because we are going to significantly improve mobility with dialogue, work and sitting down at the table to work between institutions, as the Valencia Metropolitan Transport Authority has always done," added the mayor.
