The foreign ministers of the G-7 have demanded this Saturday that Russia end the blockade of Ukrainian grain exports and that China refrain from justifying the war in the country.

The statement, released after a two-day meeting in northern Germany, underlines that the invasion of Ukraine has significantly worsened global economic forecasts. Rising prices for food, fuel and energy have pushed 43 million people to the brink of famine.

The German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, has recalled that there are 25 million tons of grain blocked in Ukrainian ports that African countries need, affected by the blockade suffered by one of the main grain exporters.

Likewise, the G7 has reiterated that "it will continue with its joint military and defense strategy towards Ukraine for as long as necessary" and has urged China -considered by experts to be a reluctant ally of Moscow-, to "refrain from justifying Russian acts in Ukraine".

Likewise, the G7 asks China to "resolutely urge Russia to stop its military aggression against Ukraine, stop "undermining" international sanctions against Moscow and "desist from engaging in information manipulation, disinformation and other means to legitimize Russia's war of aggression".
