After a scoreless first period, Jason Robertson opened the scoring for the visitors in the second period with his first of the playoffs.

But, the Flames finally blacked out the scoresheet in the third period through Mikael Backlund. Then, Andrew Mangiapane scored midway through the third period, which would prove to be the winning goal. Trevor Lewis completed the scoring with an empty net goal with less than a minute left in the game.

In net for the winners, Jacob Markstrom yielded only once on 21 shots. Despite the loss, Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger had another strong outing finishing with 29 saves.
