The president of the Diputación de Toledo, Álvaro Gutiérrez, accompanied by the deputy for Tourism, Crafts and Sports, María Jesús Pérez, presented the awards for the 2021-2022 Provincial Champions Gala on Tuesday, in which 900 athletes were recognized Toledans participating during the last course in the championship 'Somos deporte 3-18' and in the benjamin and prebenjamín championship, which took place at the Salto del Caballo football stadium.

The gala of champions, organized by the Diputación de Toledo, thus rewarded the best of all the sports categories included in the championships, in an event that also had the presence of the provincial delegate of Education, Culture and Sports of the Community Board Jose Gutierrez.

The Government of the Provincial Council of Toledo has allocated the necessary resources so that the more than 8,000 participants, who have competed in the modalities of football, futsal, basketball, handball, athletics, cross-country, volleyball and beach volleyball, in the province de Toledo, have been able to enjoy the best organization and development, paying, among other things, the sports transport of the participants.

On the other hand, the champions of the prebenjamines and benjamines championship, organized and managed by the Diputación de Toledo, have also been awarded, which have involved the incorporation of thousands of very young athletes into the sport in the modalities of soccer, futsal and basketball, because the Executive chaired by Álvaro Gutiérrez believes in the promotion of grassroots sports and attends to the demands of fathers and mothers, who accredit with their approval the correctness of the decisions made in sports matters.

The deputy for Tourism, Sports and Crafts pointed out at the beginning of the act the importance of a regional program, which shows its well-deserved role in the provincial phases, as in the case of Toledo, which as a whole "helps our young people to to train and develop personally and socially through sport, encouraging camaraderie, effort, the will to excel and all the positive values ​​associated with practicing sports».

In addition, he confirmed that "the Executive of which I am a part and chaired by Álvaro Gutiérrez, understands that sports education, sport and facilitating access to it, is an obligation and an institutional duty."

He stressed to the deputy "that the success of the program 'Somos deporte 3-18', whose winners accompany us in this Gala of provincial champions, is possible thanks to the collaboration of the Diputación de Toledo with the Junta de Comunidades, the town halls and schools”.

And he extended that gratitude to "associations, sports entities, monitors, referees, and referees, and to the workers of the Diputación's sports service, capable of greasing the machinery so that everything works perfectly with success and professionalism".
