A total of 1,319 children from Toledo will participate from this month of May to June in recreational and adventure days, as well as in camps and other new projects that will be developed in order to favor the family and work reconciliation of their parents.

This was announced this Monday at a press conference by the Councilor for Equality, Ana Belén Abellán, who stressed that these initiatives that will be carried out during these two months are part of the Co-Responsible Plan promoted by the Consistory.

Abellán explained that, first of all, a recreational and adventure day will be held on May 30 for children between 3 and 12 years of age, which will take place in the sports hall of the Alberto Sánchez Public School and in the Javier Lozano Sports Pavilion .

In this sense, he highlighted that, within this activity, 192 minors will carry out different recreational and sports activities such as climbing, archery, bullet circuit, obstacle course and inflatables. Likewise, Abellán has pointed out that this initiative will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a reception service from 8:30 a.m. for families who need it.

Similarly, he added that this same day there will also be a conference called 'Spring on the move', which will be aimed at children between 12 and 14 years of age and will be held at the facilities of the social center in the Santa María de Benquerencia, as well as in Los Alcázares Park.

As the mayor has deciphered, with 'Primavera en Marcha' a participation of 60 minors will be reached. The hours will be the same as for the first day, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with an additional service from 8:30 a.m.

Abellán has advanced that in both cases the presentation of applications begins this Monday, May 16, and will end on May 24. Once this process has been carried out, on May 2 the list of those admitted will be published on the City Council website and said place will be communicated by telephone for confirmation.

On the other hand, the councilor has indicated that other activities will take place during the month of June, such as the urban camp 'Toledo Concilia', which will take place from June 22 to 30 and in which children between 3 and 11 years old can participate.

These activities will take place in the 'Alberto Sánchez' and 'Garcilaso de la Vega' schools, reaching a total of 320 minors. In addition, these services will also be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a welcome service with breakfast from 7:30 a.m.

On the other hand, Abellán has remarked that there will also be a sports camp, in which activities will be taught for children between 3 and 12 years old. For the development of this initiative, the age of the camp has been extended for children from 12 to 14 years old.

Thus, these activities will take place in the School of Gymnastics and in the pavilion of the Polígono neighborhood for a total of 107 minors from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In line with this, the mayor has stressed that the submission period for these camps will also begin this Monday, May 16, and will end on June 1.

The Councilor for Equality has highlighted that to these proposals is added a pilot project for child care that will take place in the Azucaica neighborhood and will be aimed at children between 3 and 12 years of age for families that have work-related work-life balance needs, medical or academic "A place where children can go for as long as they need," she said.

This initiative, as explained, will be taught from this Wednesday, May 18, until June 30 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the old schools of this Toledo neighborhood.

"This service will be for 20 children each day and to access it, families must complete a request to the Women's Center 48 hours in advance," he added.
