The Toledo City Council has asked the residents and merchants of the Historic District to strictly respect the deposit schedule for "garbage on public roads and, above all, to prevent it from taking place along the processional route once the thyme has been scattered", ahead of the celebration of Corpus Christi.

The Consistory has ensured that the special road cleaning device has intensified its work in the Casco, paying special attention to the elimination of "stains on the cobblestones, graffiti, stickers and posters along the processional route."

The objective, as highlighted by the mayor of Street Cleaning, Ramón Lorente, "is to offer the best image of the city on its big day before the imminent arrival of tourists and visitors as well as raise the self-esteem of the people of Toledo who, After two years of pandemic, they are preparing to host the traditional Corpus Christi procession with total normality.

Regarding the staffing and cleaning resources for the next few days, the Valoriza concession company will place 20 containers on Paseo de la Vega this Tuesday for the celebration of the Cadena Dial Corpus.

On Wednesday 15, in the floral offering that is celebrated in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the passage of sweepers is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In the afternoon, at the act of raising the rake of the Puerta de Alcántara, a brigade of two laborers will be assigned to the area and in the parade of giants the cleaning service will be from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. and until 2:00 a.m., a special review service of the processional race and adjacent areas will be maintained with six pawns and two motorcycles.

At 10 pm, on Paseo de la Vega, the 'Los 40 Pop Corpus' concert will have another 20 containers for waste collection.

On Thursday the 16th, Corpus Day, the device will be from 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and will include five manual washdown teams, with two laborers each, in the four ordinary night washdown sectors and two sweepers and six cleaning laborers will be incorporated to clean the route more quickly and prepare it to spread the thyme later.

Starting at 6:00 a.m., the cleaning laborers of the ordinary weekend service join the service, in addition to two ordinary service laborers from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. who will carry out cleaning tasks throughout the route area and surrounding streets.

The commercial collection in the morning will be suppressed as it coincides with the itinerary and schedule of the procession, although the service will be intensified in the afternoon to respond to all businesses.

At 10:00 a.m. an extraordinary service will be carried out with two cleaning workers and their cart, who will remain behind the horses until they leave the Casco and, later, will carry out cleaning tasks until the end of the day.

Finally, starting at 3:00 p.m., the thyme will be removed throughout the processional route with an extraordinary device made up of seven pawns and a driver with a 5 m3 collection truck.

For the rest of the events included in the Fair and Festivities program, the concession company has arranged a plan that includes 10 containers in those held in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and 20 in the case of the La Peraleda fairgrounds, in addition to guaranteeing a service collection of the same and street cleaning.
