The Cathedral of Sigüenza will once again host a priestly ordination this Sunday afternoon, after seven years without any being held due to lack of vocations in the diocese. As in many other dioceses in Spain, for some years now, in that of Sigüenza-Guadalajara, both the number of priestly vocations and the number of nuns has been significantly reduced.

Enrique López Ruiz, 32 years old and a native of Guadalajara, will be ordained a priest starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Seguntina cathedral, where the Eucharist and priestly ordination will be celebrated. This is the second ordination officiated by Bishop Atilano Rodríguez Martínez. The first was that of Moisés Tena, current parish priest of the Torremocha del Campo Pastoral Unit, on May 31, 2015.

Enrique López has served pastorally in the parishes of San Pascual Baylón and Beata María de Jesús, in Guadalajara, while he was studying for a degree in Catechetics and Evangelization during this course.

On the other hand, on July 3, the diaconal ordination of the diocesan seminarian Emilio Vereda Cuevas is scheduled for the co-cathedral.
