The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has taken the first steps to create a new category of statutory personnel, that of Specialist Technician in Health Documentation, as advanced this Friday by the general director of Human Resources of the Castilla Health Service -La Mancha (Sescam), Iñigo Cortázar, during the inauguration of the XIV Conference of the Association of Health Administrators.

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has taken the first steps to create a new category of statutory personnel, that of Specialist Technician in Health Documentation, as advanced this Friday by the general director of Human Resources of the Castilla Health Service -La Mancha (Sescam), Iñigo Cortázar, during the inauguration of the XIV Conference of the Association of Health Administrators.

Cortázar has indicated that a first contact has already been maintained with the union organizations in a Technical Table in which they have been given the draft prepared by the health administration for the creation of this new category that will be, as he specified, "the first , within the administrative staff, which professionalises this group».

Accompanied by the mayor of Talavera, Tita García Élez; the president of the Association of Health Administrators, Juan Carlos García Benito; the manager of the Integrated Area of ​​Talavera, José María Ruiz de Oña, and the provincial delegate of Health, Rocío Rodríguez, the general director has pointed out that with this advance "we go from words to deeds in terms of recognizing the central role of staff administrative".

The head of Human Resources at Sescam has indicated that the pandemic has shown that these professionals are "a very important part of the system's support" and, therefore, cannot be left out of the professionalization actions that are being carried out. the regional public health system. "We are aware of the need to adapt the health administration and its structure by incorporating specific personnel to perform different functions that allow us to continue improving the care we provide to our citizens," he added.

Cortázar has referred to the important role that health administrators must play in the new care model, centered on the person, where emotional, social and psychological needs take on the same importance as clinical ones.

"Facilitating the procedures for those who may have more difficulty understanding, such as the elderly, those with cognitive impairment or those who have difficulties with the language, is also a humanizing attitude of administrative care," Cortázar asserted.

Nearly one hundred and fifty professionals meet for two days in Talavera de la Reina at these XIV Conference of the Association of Health Administrations which, under the slogan 'Visible, valuable and necessary', wants to highlight the importance of health administration in today's society, taking into account the visibility, value and necessity of each of the actions that these professionals carry out in the health field.

The organization of this meeting has aroused great interest among the group of health administrators from all over the country, which has materialized in the presentation of 24 oral communications and 37 posters. In this sense, Cortázar has congratulated these professionals for the constant updating and updating in the field of training and professional skills.

The Association of Health Administrators, created in Cuenca in the year 2000, currently groups more than 250 members and has managed to consolidate itself as a reference for administrative professionals who work in the different health services throughout Spain, organizing conferences on national character that take place every two years and annual monographic conferences.
