Australia's tennis selection has become the first team to reach the final of the Davis Cup finals in Malaga. The 28-time winner defeated last year's finalists Croatia 2-1 and reached for the trophy for the first time in 19 years.

Opponents in the final on Sunday are Italy or Canada, who defeated Germany 2-1 on Thursday evening.

In the first semifinal match, Borna Coric put Croatia ahead with a 6:4, 6:3 against Thanasi Kokkinakis. After that, Alex de Minaur equalized 6-2, 6-2 against 34-year-old veteran Marin Cilic. In the decisive doubles match, Jordan Thomson and Max Purcell won 6:7 (3:7), 7:5 and 6:4 against their predecessors Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic.
