In Talavera de la Reina, the countdown has begun for the opening of its municipal swimming pools, which are being fine-tuned: tidying up the pools, in the recreation area, the review of irrigation, the disinfection of all common areas or exhaustive and in-depth cleaning of the entire infrastructure, in addition to filling them.

The Councilor for Sport in Equality, Sergio Gutiérrez, confirmed this during his visit to the municipal swimming pool of La Piedad, which already has an opening date, like almost all: La Alameda and the Santa María and Patrocinio neighborhoods, where the season will begin next Monday. They will be open from 12:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 11:15 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. on weekends.

In the case of the pool of the José Ángel de Jesús Encinas sports complex, the opening will take place on June 18. It is due to the change of season of the installation, for which it is necessary to remove the cover and clean it up for the summer season. In addition, the El Prado heated pool will remain available to users throughout the summer, with special hours from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The free aqua aerobics activity, highly demanded, will be offered in July and August, with the following distribution: Mondays and Wednesdays at La Alameda, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at La Piedad in the morning. Registration is not required; simply attend around 1:00 p.m. and participate.

A hundred operators will work throughout the swimming pool season, according to the government team. More than 60 people have been hired for the set-up and daily maintenance of the facilities, around 30 lifeguards and also security and surveillance personnel. The forecast is that this service will be open to the public until a date close to September 8, the feast of the Virgen del Prado.
