Animal and complex operation on Tuesday morning in the canton of Bern in Switzerland: A cow fell into a sewage hole, writes "Schutz und Salvation Bern" on Facebook. The professional fire brigade is on site together with the local fire brigade.

A crane is needed to free the animal from its predicament. A picture of the deployment shows straps and a net stretched around his body, which in turn has a hook attached. An animal lifting net is required to secure the cattle, reports the "Tagesanzeiger". The rescue workers were equipped with a special suit and breathing apparatus. That was required in the vicinity of a cesspool.

A second picture shared by "Schutz und Salvation Bern" then shows a mother cow in half and from behind and lying on her side - and next to her in the straw a newborn calf. Because the fire brigade has just finished its mission in Mamishaus in the canton of Bern, the veterinarian who has also been brought in is already in demand. Immediately after the rescue, the pregnant cow gave birth to a calf.

The little one already has a name. It's called Kevin - like his rescuer. "Of course we're very happy about that," quotes the "Tagesanzeiger" from a spokeswoman for "Schutz und Salvation Bern". Both the new suckler cow and Kevin are doing well.
