The company Switch Mobility Europe presented yesterday in the register of the Valladolid City Council the request for a building license to build its electric bus factory in the city. This procedure, which entered the Consistory at 11:42 a.m., represents one more step for the Indian company to build its factory, which will generate some 2,000 jobs

The mayor of Valladolid, Óscar Puente, informed on his Twitter account of the request presented by Switch Mobility, which must receive a response within a maximum period of three months.

The multinational, which has already submitted to the Board the request for declaration of a priority industrial project, plans to build its factory for electric buses in the industrial area of the Santovenia highway.

In March, the Indian company laid the first stone of the electric bus and electric vehicle factory and a research center that it will build on the Acor land, next to Santander Avenue, reports Ical.

Switch Mobility projects the creation of a factory for electric buses, and later for light vehicles, as well as a research center, which is expected to create 2,000 direct jobs, as well as about 5,000 indirect ones. The company's forecast is to complete the works by the end of 2022 and start producing 'zero net carbon' electric buses, with a planned investment of 100 million euros for this first phase and the creation of 7,000 jobs (2,000 direct and 5,000 indirect).
