Maybe it was just an anecdote, but Ken cared about it. On an autumn morning, I walked with Ken down Luang Prabang's main street, past Buddhist temples and palaces under palm trees. The 67,000-inhabitant city in the mountainous north of Laos is a place where there are three dominant colors: the gold of the temples, the green of the jungle, the orange of the monks' robes.
