Sorel-Tracy: loss of control of a truck causes chaos on Highway 30

The driver of a 53-foot truck who lost control of his vehicle caused a lot of trouble Wednesday on Highway 30, near Sorel-Tracy.

The accident took place near the Chemin Saint-Roch exit. Around 4 p.m., the driver of the truck allegedly, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), hit a car while changing lanes. “When trying to get back in his lane, he lost control of his vehicle and then crossed the central reservation of the highway,” added Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the SQ.

A super structure with traffic signs was rammed and fell onto the roadway, initially causing the freeway to be closed in both directions. A lane was opened a few minutes later in a westerly direction.

The driver of the car escaped with minor injuries.
